About Dr. Laurence Ackerman
Dr. Laurence Ackerman was raised in a medical family in Berkeley, California. After graduating from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1976, he relocated to San Luis Obispo. He has received advanced training in orthodontics, implants, oral surgery, and cosmetic dentistry.
He has more than 30 years of experience serving the San Luis Obispo community. Dr. Ackerman's service to the community extends beyond dentistry. He served on the Board of Directors of the YMCA for many years and is a former president of the organization. He is a member of the ADA, CDA, and Central Coast Dental Society. In his free time, Dr. Ackerman and his wife Maryann enjoy riding horses, bicycling, skiing, and golf.
About Dr. Daniel Lapidus
Dr. Daniel Lapidus was raised in Los Angeles, California. After graduating from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in 2006, he completed an advanced education in general dentistry at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia, and was the chief of clinical dentistry at Vance Air Force Base in Oklahoma. After completing his Air Force service, Dr. Lapidus came to San Luis Obispo. Most recently Dr. Lapidus has completed a master's degree in Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine, making him a leading expert and practitioner in TMJ disorders and other facial pains.
Dr. Lapidus has advanced training in implants and cosmetic dentistry. He is a member of the ADA, CDA, Central Coast Dental Society, and American Academy of Orofacial Pain. In his free time, Dr. Lapidus enjoys woodworking, metalsmithing, and, with his wife Melissa and two children. He enjoys baseball, hiking, sailing, and golfing.
